Artist Statement
My work is based on capturing the transient and ever changing light of the natural environment. Endless possibilities with the change in season. Shifting hues across water, moving shades of blues, greys, reds and silver. Post rain, hills and paddocks glisten with moisture. Worked soil a rich red. Crops and trees with hints of deep blue and purple.
I am a multi-media artist with a leaning towards figurative expressionism. I am comfortable using a range of mediums including oil, acrylic and watercolour. The majority of recent works have been painted in oil on linen. While my preferred medium is oil, I recognise the need to exercise my craft through sketching using a range of mediums including pen and ink.
My next exhibition, ‘eight degrees’ will be held at Gallery 11:11 from 2-15 December 2023 and focuses on the connections and pivot points we experience in our daily lives.
